Where to start

Start from the problem, not the practice

Clients rarely arrive asking for a service. They arrive with a symptom. This is roughly how those map.

How we work

Three commitments that apply to every practice

Accountability

One team owns the outcome end to end

The most expensive pattern in enterprise delivery is a chain of suppliers each accountable for their own layer and nobody accountable for the result. Our practices share a delivery standard, a review process and a single point of escalation.

  • One commercial relationship across every practice involved
  • Architecture reviewed across practice boundaries, not within them
  • A named engagement lead who does not change mid-programme
  • Escalation to a partner, not to a queue

Evidence

Baselined before, measured after

Every engagement starts by measuring the thing we are being asked to improve. It occasionally produces uncomfortable findings — a process that is already efficient, or a system that does not need replacing — and reporting those is the point.

  • Current-state measurement before any change is proposed
  • Success metric agreed in writing with the sponsor
  • Results reported against the baseline, including misses
  • Findings are yours whether or not you continue

Exit

Designed so you can leave

We are not trying to become a permanent dependency. Code lives in your repository, decisions are recorded in your systems, and every retainer has a documented exit. A supplier you cannot leave has no incentive to stay good.

  • Full IP and source ownership transfers as work is delivered
  • Runbooks and decision records written for your team
  • Handover includes shadowing rather than a document drop
  • Retainers taper by agreement instead of renewing by default

Our Process

Our Delivery Process

A proven methodology that ensures every project is delivered securely, efficiently, and at scale.

01

Discovery

Deep-dive workshops to map your business landscape, pain points, and technology ambitions.

02

Planning

Feasibility analysis, resource planning, risk assessment, and technology stack selection.

03

Architecture

System design, infrastructure blueprints, and security-first architecture documentation.

04

Development

Agile development cycles with continuous integration, code review, and QA gates.

05

Deployment

Zero-downtime releases, blue/green deployments, and full cloud orchestration.

06

Support

24/7 monitoring, incident response, performance optimization, and ongoing evolution.

Engagement models

Three ways to buy the work

Almost every relationship starts with an assessment, because it is the cheapest way for both sides to find out whether the fit is real.

Assessment

Fixed fee

One to four weeks

A scoped, costed read on the problem before anyone proposes a solution to it.

  • Quoted before it starts, no open-ended discovery
  • Findings and artefacts yours regardless of next steps
  • An honest recommendation, including 'do nothing'
  • Feeds directly into a costed proposal if you want one
Recommended

Project delivery

Phased

Exit gates between phases

A cross-functional team delivering production-ready increments against agreed milestones.

  • Scope negotiable at every boundary, quality is not
  • Working demo on a fixed cadence from week four
  • Repository and IP yours from the first commit
  • Stop between phases without losing what shipped

Retained team

Monthly

Named team, agreed SLA

Ongoing capacity, support and evolution from engineers who already know your systems.

  • Named engineers rather than a rotating pool
  • Agreed response and resolution targets
  • Planned taper as your own capability grows
  • Documented exit from the first month

Questions

What clients ask before the first engagement

If yours is not here, it is a good opening question for the call.

Working with us

Do we have to engage more than one practice?

No. Most engagements start in one practice and stay there. The practices share a delivery standard so that when a problem does cross a boundary — a data platform that needs a landing zone, a CRM rollout that needs integration work — it is one team and one commercial relationship rather than a handover between suppliers.

Can you work alongside our incumbent supplier?

Routinely, and we do not require exclusivity. We are often one of several parties, and part of the early work is usually clarifying who is accountable for what across them. Where we are asked to assess an incumbent's work we will do it honestly, which is occasionally uncomfortable and always the reason we were asked.

What size of organisation do you usually work with?

Mid-market through enterprise, most often where there is an existing estate with real constraints rather than a greenfield build. If a problem is genuinely better served by an off-the-shelf product or a smaller specialist, we will say so — it is a faster way to earn the next conversation than winning the wrong one.

Commercials

How do you price work?

Assessments are a fixed fee quoted before they start. Project work is scoped per phase with an exit gate between phases, so you never commit to the whole programme on day one. Retainers are monthly against a named team and an agreed SLA. We do not run open-ended time-and-materials discovery.

What happens if an estimate turns out to be wrong?

It is renegotiated at the next phase boundary, in the open. We hold quality and the release date fixed and treat scope as the variable, so the conversation is about what ships rather than about a change request. Estimates are given with a stated confidence range for this reason.

Who owns what we pay you to build?

You do, from the first commit. Repositories live in your organisation, IP assigns as work is delivered rather than on final payment, and we run a dependency licence audit before launch so you know exactly what you are shipping and under which terms.

Tell us the problem, not the specification.

Send the symptom and the constraints. We will come back with an approach, a cost range, and an honest view on whether we are the right team.
